We, Moms, are like the Martha in the Bible.

We go from one thing to the next. We cross off our to-do lists. We add more to it. "Anxious and worried about many things."

Do we ever find the time to sit and listen to our children, our spouse, or Our Lord?

We need reminders about our priorities. We need some help with those endless to-do lists. We need to be Smart about our priorities and Smart about our work.

Are we choosing to do the better part?

Martha wasn't reprimanded for wanting to do the dishes, she was reprimanded for not seeking Christ first. He is there when we spend time in prayer, when we go to Mass. He is there when a friend is in trouble or a child needs a hug. But he is even there in those dishes or laundry we have to do.

St. Frances of Rome says: “It is most laudable in a married woman to be devout, but she must never forget that she is a housewife. And sometimes she must leave God at the altar to find Him in her housekeeping” (Butler’s Lives of the Saints).
